Selecting the proper servo motor for your application can be accomplished quickly and accurately with Mitsubishi’s “Motorizer” servo sizing software. Inertia ratio, required torque, motor utilization rate, and required regeneration resistors will all be determined from the software calculations. The software can be used to size both Mitsubishi servo and VFD applications. It is available as a free download from the Mitsubishi website after registering an account.
Twelve different load mechanisms are supported in the software including ball screw, conveyor, and rotary tables allowing the software to be used for all applications.
Entering accurate data for critical sizing factors such as payload mass, ball screw lead, and gear ratios will help ensure the correct motor is selected.
The motion profile of the system will have a large impact on the motor sizing. You will want to consider worst-case acceleration and deceleration to select a large enough motor.
Once all the data has been entered the Motorizer software will provide a list of results. Detailed statistics are shown to easily narrow down the results to the most suitable setup. Adjustment of any application parameters will immediately be reflected to the results. When a motor has been selected a PDF of all sizing parameters and results can be saved for project documentation.
